OREGON -- Willamette
Z’ivo Winery is owned & operated by John Zelko & his wife Katherine, who settled in Oregon in 1983. In 1995, they bought 40 acres of land in the Eola-Amity Hills in the north Willamette Valley, where shallow volcanic & sedimentary soil in the rocky, east-facing hillside produces Pinot Noir with intense black fruit, spice & earth tones. Employing small lot fermentations often with native yeasts, "Z'Ivo" means “alive” and “vibrant” in the Zelko family's Czech heritage.
